Christmas is just around the corner, and it can feel overwhelming if you're in charge of the kitchen. Planning a festive meal, especially when you want to prepare a vegan dinner, can sometimes be challenging. But don't worry—you're not alone.
To help make your festive cooking easier and more enjoyable, I’ve compiled a list of vegan dishes below, all tried and tested.
These dishes are easy to prepare, healthy, fun, and cruelty-free—making your Christmas dinner both delicious and compassionate.
Main
Lentil loaf with balsamic onion gravy: The turkey alternative.
Pro tip: Test your skills to shape it like a turkey to give it an extra festive appearance.

Chilli Garlic Mushroom: South Asian/Indian style

Roasted butternut squash kale salad: (Mediterranean inspired)
Pro tip:If you don’t like butternut, you can swap it with sliced carrots, adjusting roasting time.

Side or Main
Creamy Mushroom Stroganoff (Russian style)
Pro tip:Even this is the second mushroom dish, this is definitely different than the chilli garlic one. Also consider using a mix of mushrooms, I used woodland from Morrison's, oyster and shiitake from Tesco.
Creamy Vegan Mushroom Stroganoff
Side 3
Stuffed Peppers (Far east Asian and European blend)
Pro tip: When buying peppers, try to buy unpacked ones and get the ones with three “bottoms” rather than four. They have fewer seeds and stronger flavour. You can also substitute Tofu with seitan for “meatier” taste.

POTATOES
We can’t have a Christmas dinner without roasted potatoes. So far this is my favourite recipe.
Tip:Read the entire recipe before making a shopping list. Also, feel free to adjust garlic level.

Plants in Duvet: My rename of Veggie pigs in blankets
Pro tip:Consider this when buying sausages
If you like Cumberland style: Richmond meat free, Tesco’s own
For Lincolnshire style: Linda McCartney
For hot dog/smoky style: Beyond sausages (Very juicy and my favourite)
Chorizo style: Squeaky bean, Tesco’s own brand and M&S plant kitchen
For ham, any vegan will do, I used a mix of Richmond and Quorn ones.
